The British Argentine Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Embassy of Argentina in the United Kingdom, recently co-hosted a business breakfast in London with Ms Georgina Losada, Secretary for Investment and International Trade of the Province of Santa Fe.

The gathering brought together a select audience to hear directly from one of Argentina's most dynamic provincial trade voices — and to explore the significant opportunities that Santa Fe presents for UK investors, businesses, and partners.

The Speakers

The breakfast featured contributions from three speakers whose perspectives brought both institutional weight and personal connection to the subject.

H.E. Ambassador Mariana Plaza set the context, underscoring the importance of provincial engagement in strengthening the broader UK-Argentine bilateral relationship and the Embassy's commitment to facilitating those conversations in London.

Ing. Javier Alvarez, Chairman of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce — and a santafecino himself — brought a welcome personal dimension to the morning, speaking to his own connection to the province and to the BACC's long-standing interest in promoting the full breadth of Argentina's regions to the UK market.

Secretary Georgina Losada then took the floor, presenting Santa Fe's remarkable proposition as Argentina's gateway to the world. Her remarks painted a picture of a province that punches well above its weight on the national and international stage — and one with a clear, ambitious vision for attracting foreign investment and deepening trade ties.

The Province of Santa Fe is the second largest exporting province in Argentina — a position underpinned by exceptional connectivity and infrastructure, including one of the most significant river port systems in South America. Its logistical advantages make it a natural hub for agricultural exports, but the province's economic story extends well beyond the land.

Santa Fe has also established itself as a thriving biotechnology hub, with a growing cluster of life sciences, agri-tech, and innovation companies that are increasingly attracting international attention. The combination of world-class infrastructure, a highly educated workforce, and a forward-looking provincial government makes Santa Fe one of the most compelling investment destinations in the country.
